Reviewing the Self…

No reviews left?

Screw them, don’t be bereft,

Leave one of your own,

Don’t just sit there feeling shitty and moan…

Tell them you liked it,

Tell yourself you enjoyed it,

Then later read that one review,

And realize it came directly from you…

To be a true writer,

One must be able to take criticism,

Maybe in some cases the pain is like that of circumcision,

But who the hell cares, as long as you are happy,

Don’t with those that don’t care,

Have a fit of a conniption, ending up with them in a collision…

Should I feel this way when you don't comment on my work?;-) I'd be a basket case if I did.lol... Hey Rufuz what you been up to lately?
Tell dad it's time he wrote a nice one, for the new year! Enjoy it!

Love,
Eileen

I am not a true writer. I'm a woman who want share and learn as much as I can as I pass this way. I never want to disrepect anyone. But, I am true to myself. My review for my work is "This is the best I can do at this time in my life and it is seasoned with LOVE." I care what others feel and think. However, their thinking don't determine my destiny. I'm not writing just for me. Love, Betty Torain

If I write for me, then it really doesn't matter if others relate to it. I am grateful for the comments, but I don't live my life for them. Perhaps if I were a real poet I might feel differently? Happy New Year to you, Renee and Rufuz!
Take care,
Sherry

All one has to do is read HOW MANY read, not gloom over those that left a comment, though those are really appreciated. Happy New Year to you and yours, Ed. The best new year ever to you and yours.

Before the sun sets on 2005
Before the memories fade
Before the networks get jammed
And before I get drunk and loose my mind,
I am wishing you
A very Happy & Prosperous 2006!!

I have two glasses, and only me to pour beer in them. My left and right hands say cheers, and cheers for a wonderful new year.

Very sage advice, and I'm especially proud of my last poem, so I think I'll write one hell of a marvelous review to myself. Thanks!

PS I like your poem, too!
