Memories are such wonderful things...

Gimme a ride in that hippie bus, Gimme a ride, don’t make a fuss, To San Francisco all the way we cuss, Not enough weed or drugs we discuss… Leave that redneck at the side of the road, Look at them zits, he looks like a toad, Oh what the hell, maybe transform him we can, God he stinks, let me sit near the fan… Tokin’ on that favorite big one, Gettin’ laid by my favorite big hun, Parked on the side of the road till rises the sun, Oh shit it’s a cop, hide the grass, tell him we were just worshipping the son…J © ed ~ 10/21/06

Two gimmies right away, Ed, that's Gimme Shelter and Gimme Some Truth from Jagger and Lennon respectfully, right on the era button with the opening. San Fransisco, my, my, Scot Mackenzie and his 'flowers in their' false idyll, before Jagger and Lennon are barely off my tongue. Weed or drugs? It's a revolutionary act for a celebrity (so called) to declare that he does NOT take drugs. Gettin' laid. The world suffers the birth pangs today as a consequence. Guess the legacy of the 60s has not been so flowery after all - and we still ask that time honoured if not tiresome question, 'gimme some truth.'
