Poem Artwork

It’s happened before,

My speech does slur,

It could hang around for sometime,

My inability of late to write rhymes,

No telling when this will occur,

Will it from me make you deter,

My muse has away from me, taken a spur…

Sure I got ideas, some,

But I do better at this time to hum,

To hitchhike I am apt to use my thumb,

Screw my muse, let me just down some rum…

No drug does make me more interested,

Alcohol just honestly does make me more disinterested,

Of the writing bug I am no longer infested,

Maybe something to stop my interest, I may have ingested,

Of my writing I obviously have a great deal invested,

But its going nowhere, my page herein so congested,

Again oh screw it, I am at a loss, just keep writing I should, unmolested…J

Come on Ed, I like your poetic spurts..sometimes you have them, some time you don't,so it hurts...but you are human like us, but like that rum, so you say...so rum in a bottle is a song...get your butt back where it does belong...

Go sit down and have a nice, cool glass of wet. I was at the bar last night and learned to swim in glass of wine - Olympic size! My pen got drunk.

Screw my muse, let me just down some rum…

Sometimes, it's just what we have to do.

PS We have many Holiday Rum Specials at the Pink Flamingo Bar. Come on Up, and Down a Few!

Could be, Ed, your muse has turned your thought-screw loose. Have you checked that, yet? Whatever they do, its best to read a good book or sompin' then wake up clear-headed the next day rarin' to go.

Now this poem t'wart so bad, boy :o)
