Anchoring Out...

I WISH...

Anchoring out, within sight of shore,


Anchoring out, awaiting the first mate,


To return from the store,


Onward she did row; a hundred yards the score…


 


The at anchor night light lit,


Sitting in the stern cockpit,


Watching the twinkling of the stars,


One of those lights out there Mars…


 


The gentle lapping of the bay,


Making sleep much easier wherever I lay,


Happily comfortable with my mate Rene’,


Our anchor keeping us from floating astray…

Ed,

I once anchored out for a snooze and was awakened by someone shouting "Ahoy" When I peaked out to see what was what It was a shrimper....my anchor hadn't held and I was about to wind up on the beach. not good with a four foot draft sailboat.

I think he was hailing me not so much because I was about to ground, but because I was in his way.....LOL

You make this an adventure in writing and I could almost feel the rocking of the boat while you two snooze away.

Where away??
Two points off the starboard bow, on the Quay nearby, sighted in drugstore, loaded with...Brown bag, filled to the brim with Goodies..

Don't worry, yer Matey is on her way, (Dinner will be served)Just relax, kick back AYE Captain,

Rufuz must Quit chasing Gulls off the deck or he'll be overboard though.
