Poem Artwork

Don’t buy them on the street corner

That’s meant for the occasional foreigner

Exhaust fumes, bird droppings & sweat

The eaters family will then be the mourners…

Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer

Delicious & with a slight twang

Reddish in color, like transmission fluid

Great with anything from hot dogs & pretzels

To pigs pork or meat from a steer…

Mustard on the pretzels

Spicy or classic yellow

Howsoever you like it

Will never go out of style

Like Studebaker or Edsels…

When you were wetting your first diapers I was the proud owner of a 1963 Studebaker Grand Tourism (the one with the little top roof window with a canvas cover making a racket you won't believe driving at 100mp and the last car ever made with that name) so don't get too cocky because Camaro copy it and called their "body", and you can drink all that piss horse you want, but in that BBQ of yours better be Coors or else...but foar all means a couple of crates of that birch beer to PeeWee will suit me just fine (don't tell Mom I said that)

This poem brings to mind walking the boardwalk in seaside where we would enjoy the pretzels and birch beer! Thanks for the memories, Ed;-)...ET

On the Cape May Ferry To Maryland
I sat at a table eating a nice Soft Pretzel
Coating it with Mustard, a family of four
Mom, Dad A Boy & A Girl sat next to us,
The Boy Kept looking at me smearing my Pretzel
With Mustard, I said to him
"Try It, You'll like it"
He did And told me so
Peace Brother

William
PS
go great with "BEER"

Not much of a beer drinker now, but what you've described sounds yummy! Have you ever tried the vinegar and salt pork rinds? This poem can make a great commercial too :) hugs

WOW! Pretzels & Birch Beer - for your big Fourth of July BBQ Bash??!! Sounds much better than your usual Road Kill Deluxe Menu, Brother.

You know me, Brother Pee Wee - Birch Beer, Potato Liquor, Moonshine - it's all good, to me. But you better stock a few cases of Coors, too. Old Edvark is mighty damned particular.
