Remembering walking into school in the beginning of the year,

That smell that wafted from…………..where?

It wasn’t the kitchen, as it smelled of a kind of soap,

It was a clean smell & a most welcome odor,

Now when you smell it, it brings back your childhood…

For me the smell of low tide in the salt marshes,

Everytime I could cry for the loss of childhood,

Driving back from visiting cousins in the city,

The marsh smell told me I was just about home,

Granted the marshes were not all that pretty,

But not far from them did I as a kid like to roam…

That smell at grandmoms house,

Always of something cooking that was sweet,

Tapioca pudding she did make from scratch,

Licking the pot she let me do, then washed me clean,

The woman lived in an old home, but never was there a mouse…

Your welcome, Ed. Enjoyed the poem. Sometimes it's hard to believe how many years of smells have been lived.

Good memories... mine was steam pudding cooked in a can. The musty smell of dead leave in the forest.

Catching up.

What a cool picture- and concept.
I do have those nasal memories.
I miss the smell of my dog after a rain, and the way, of course, he would shake it all over me.

Smells bring back lots of memories for me too! The smell of cattle takes me back to my youth when I worked on my grandpa's farm. I like the pic too Ed. It goes well with your words.

Peace,
Dayvid
