And everybody in the house was stirring,

Drinks being made of every sort and concoction,

The power mixers were loudly whirring,

Drinks being made without cessation,

Looking forward to New Years with great elation…

The mice in the walls,

Had been before Christmas to the malls,

And the cock roaches were milling about their stalls,

All waiting for the food to be out spread,

Neither group had to experience any dread,

All they wanted to do was eat; eat till they all were dead…

New Year’s eve does fast approach,

Not long will the roaches on the food encroach,

The mice will then as well do so without reproach,

And all of us humans will share with them all,

And for New Year’s we will all then have a big ball…
