Percy wuz a cowboy
Bossy wuz a cow
Percy’s buckskin Bucky
Bucked and bucked and how
Each time that Percy leapt aboard
Buck crow-hopped all around
His hooves playing percussion
To a low-brass fartin’ sound
Now, Bossy wuz two stoopud
Too abhor the slaughter house
One hundred hogs were sceaming
The stench of blood wuz all around
She stood thinkin’ of nuthin’
As the bolt gun wuz applied
It wuz nuthin’ short of ugly
How Bossy thrashed around and died
Bucky’s teeth got all wore down
And that winter he would have died
It wuz hard to do the right thang
Percy moped around and cried
But Bucky wuz old and tired
Percy didn’t want to shoot him himself
But Buck wuz old and ready to go
So he went to the dawg food shelf
Meanwhile, back at the Heavenly Ranch
Bucky tossed Percy onto his head
Then Buck danced a jig all over Perce
You would’a thought that Percy wuz dead
As Bucky wildly crow-hopped
Bossy bellered and danced as well
For Bossy and Bucky were in Heaven
And Percy had gone straight to Hell

First, everybody… Ed is just a kind Samaritan. Please give Duke LaRance his due.
Behind the humor in the poem is the sad fact that some animals have been exalted while others have been abused by their owners, farmers and ranchers. Duke's satire is quite obvious, but many will not get it.

It's got farts, blood and guts, and a trip to hell.
