The last three days have been brutal,
For me anyways since it’s been a long time since I’ve done any work,
On Wednesday I went to the shore, ostensibly to ride my bike,
Instead for the first few hours I helped a friend with his store,
Lots of lifting of old heavy & dusty shelves & the like,
Then finally for a bike ride that was anything but a bore…

Then on Thursday I went to Rene’s to see her, her horse and pup,
While there I cleaned out her grungy Jeep, got it to shine inside,
Then I worked on her brake dusted wheels with Brillo,
Had to bend over for about an hour to get off the dust,
The old Jeep looked pretty good with shiny wheels,
She has got to clean them more as that’s a must…

Friday I only had an appointment to work on my car,
Told nothing wrong with it so no money spent, in my check book a star,
But, man, was I tired, and my lower back ached as did my calve muscles,
I awoke with major pain and what I assume were muscle spasms there,
I couldn’t walk it off, nor would this arthritis cream make it go,
Man, I got to tell you that getting old does really freakin’ SUCK…
