A second "chapter" in my end of the world short series...

Poem Artwork

Food & water plenty I got,
Also to smoke an ounce of pot,
Enough meds for 6 months or more,
All in my 4 wheel camper do them I store…

The arctic conditions are of course cold,
But to keep heading south I must continue to roll,
With the earth switched around, to go south, north I go,
Another human I’ve not seen in days,
But that’s okay as I’ve got Jersey my dog,
And we move south, though quite slow…

Fuel from frozen stations or other diesel trucks,
Felt initially rather a thief I could not pay the bucks,
No radio stations transmitting this far in the north,
But I got plenty of music to listen to, need tunes,
Or we would both go over the edge & become loons…

The snow covers like frozen tundra,
Nothing green showing, only white,
If water I lack, I can melt the frozen snow,
Then in my tanks till needed it does go,
The end of the world did not die with a big blow,
Nor were we taken into a bright light,
For those that survived, like us,
We live for now in an area of total umbra…

You seem very well prepared for what has caught the others totally off guard as they freeze in place. But then, I believe you are the hero in this little tale and can conjure up whatever you need to keep the shivers away… Hooray!
