Since I've read you, I've noted that you seem to lack a sense of control. And that's why you always act impulsively, often leading to the many problems you've experienced that you write about.
While too much self-discipline is very dangerous, so is too much exploiting opportunities without good decision-making. Like Tom suggested, self analyzing won't help.
I'm not too worried if the walls talk to you. But I would be concerned if the walls have eyes. ;-)
