Across this great country we rode,
Me to of it see & he in the company of me.

This was one of them VERY weird dreams put to paper...

Poem Artwork

Mostly we rode in silence,
He didn’t speak, though when I felt the urge,
So many thoughts did I allow to surge,
When I spoke, he did intently listen…

No, he was not much of a conversationalist,
But I more than made up for him lacking,
He sat in the passenger’s seat, safely with a seat belt,
People passing us thought us strange,
But that was alright as I knew we were only slightly deranged…

We saw many great things in our travels,
Sometimes I thought from him I discerned a comment,
In my conversation I sometimes thought there was involvement,
But, alas, no, it only did increase my mental unravels,
By the end of our trip, my sanity was restored,
My mind an empty blackboard, ready for further record.

Good thing you had Alf to vent to, restoring your sanity. He's a great listener and that's just what you needed!!

Love ya!

I loved Alf. He was witty and smart. He would make a great companion on a road trip, better than most people I know.

Slightly deranged or not, I hope not too many felines came up missing along your journey, because I know how much ALF likes cats.

"Only slightly deranged" indeed, but all in good fun. Enjoyed. John

We derive much from our dreams at times, Ed. This dream of yours is packed with a good dose of down home reality.
