“BEYOND TIRED”

  DID nothing all weekend long,

  Slept little Sunday night,

  To stay awake today, I had to fight,

  Still had to work, as wouldn’t call out for being tired,

  Wouldn’t want my ass to get fired,

  For with employment situation, I’d be hard pressed to get hired.

Coffee the only thing keeping me going,

Not good for the heart, but what the hell, keep it flowing,

Have another cup or so, who cares if it makes me pee,

As long as it keeps me alert, to a degree.

Driving the same old route, day in & day out,

Has me in the process of other employment to scout,

 Would regret losing this job, as much as I like it,

But the hours here are too haphazard & easy to flout.

Got this case of the sleepies, just about,

Wish I could just take a short nap, doesn’t matter the amount,

Who knows, maybe I can get someone else to cover my route,

                 BUT I DOUBT!
