“Am I A Poet?”

Seems I was going to take some time off,

From writing poetry & such,

But can’t keep my hands out of it much,

Just sitting in front of this screen,

Makes me want to create something,

It can be funny, or even clean,

As long as I am typing something to eventually preen.

What makes a poet write?

His hands, his brain, his being bright?

Am I really a poet, I ask myself?

Do I get an answer?

Most likely not from the self.

Some have said, I have a brilliance of words,

But I find it hard to believe,

For sometimes I believe I have more in common with             

                the birds,

Or being a poet, may just be the life of a nerd,

But if that is the case, then I must confess,

That as a nerd, I am probably one of the best!

But as a poet, I am still not sure, if I am or not,

I know I can rhyme, as I have demonstrated here,

But I have no idea of what I am talking about,

And that is abundantly CLEAR!
