Do we have our own writers elf, if so my condolances to you all...

             "LIL' WRITERS ELF"

I am working late tonight,
And I don't want to write,
But that lil' elf inside wants me to do whats right,
He makes me write no matter whether its dark or light.

How do I stop him?
I haven't a whim,
He is almost a teacher,
Making me write features,
I can't get away,
As he lives within my gray,
Maybe if I ask the guy with the red sleigh,
He can help me even partway.

But the above does not seem to be the way it is to be,
As this lil' writers elf cannot see,
How tired he makes me,
I really do love him dear,
As without him I am clearly,
I find, a writer that is dreary,
He really and truly helps me sincerely,
But I find his pushing me to adhere,
Makes me all the more unwilling to hear.

Your "Lil Writers Elf" is one busy fellow. Mine is rather lazy, but once he gets an idea, he can be demanding.

I love the way you penned your creative urge down as a "Lil Writers Elf. This is a really a cute idea.

Playful, delightful, irrisistibly readable.. Ed, you've written a 'turning point' in my day.. and I thank you, sincerely. It's just wonderful! (em.. yes.. my 'grey' also houses someone similar.. hehe) Do we have a choice but to listen to him/her? I, for one, am all ears! (grin) Apparently, you are also a good 'listener'.. I'm glad! katy xox.

Yes,we all an elf like that one and he really pushes us especially when we feel very very tired,I think he thinks that we have to make the effort to take his wonderful treasures(words) and if we ignore him and say 'wait till tomorrow,'he hides all his gems and sulks and he never gives a second chance, its write when he wants us to or not at all,its put it on paper now or be doomed to forget totally his ideas and lines...that's the way he is.
I can't fight him anymore,I get up all hours of the night for him,he is a cheeky thing that little elf,you tell it exactly as it is,he would be proud of this one.Excellent!
