Short Trip to the Beach

This is the follow up to "Doin the Beach with Rufuz", under humor as what else can I do but laugh...?

(Follow up to “Doin’ the Beach with Rufuz”)

“Short Trip to the Beach”

No shells did we find,

But we did get a fine,

For taking the Jeep,

Where it didn’t belong,

Man, this has NOT been my week!

Thought being winter,

Taking the Jeep on the sand,

Would not be a problem,

But the ranger, he did take a stand,

And I, had to withhold my hands,

From knocking him into the wetlands.

Not a soul was there to see,

Neither north nor south for miles,

But this servant of the seagulls,

Had to make known his authority,

Over those with hair in my style.

His dislike for “long-haired hippies”,

He did vehemently display,

Hell, not even a please,

Would appease this public servant.

He was there to protect the preciousness of Nature,

And that I understood and applauded,

But it is legal for Jeeps and such to use the beach,

But only when licensed to do so.

No signs were there to warn,

Per the ranger, they were taken down to repaint,

Not my problem I made to state,

But the law is the law, signs or no,

So off to court I am to go…                                             (ed)

Never fails, but I agree--no signs?--they should have posted something somewhere--be careful that they didn't put it in the paper. And to top it off, the laundry still needs to be finished . . . sorry you had a bad day . . . b

Unfortunate, but sometimes life is like that. It isn't fair, and nevefr was. Prejudice is nasty, no matter the reason, but it is a good thing you didn't resort to any physical protest.

shame that one who has power does not have a brain to go with it, would not a warning have been good enough for all ... tell you story in court as you did here and you will win.....

Oh Ed....this is not fair....I am so sorry....I must have had premonition when I told you that you might find more than shells if you went....hmmmm...may you ought to start listening to me...LOL...well..this is not funny....I hate prejudice and that is what this was....it matters not what your hair is like...or the clothes you wear etc....I suppose he just wanted to throw his weight around...I wish there was a way out for you...I will pray for you...floria

Oh....that's not very fair...make a stand Ed,seeing the signs were NOT there you should win that one.
Great poem,I am glad you care for the environment (your poem states that YOU DO) but even greenies like me expect the signs to indicate what we can and can't do...
no sign...no fine...
that's my view,
I think it stinks
if you have to pay
Fight em mate all the way!
Best wishes always
from
your fan from 'Auz'....
Kay.
