I like humor mush better than poor me, pity party stuff, and up until very recently didn't post anything like that, because I so rarely wrote in that vein, but.....thennnnnn....I wrote a few pieces where I was playing my small Stratavious, and people liked it....go figure, agonly pulls em in!!! Too bizarre. But honestly I prefer to laugh, I'd rather feel good then dwell on my chit...and you know what??? Thank you for posting this....I am only going to be here at AD till the end of the yr, I cannot afford to renew, but I am going out with my upbeat stuff, forget my blue period......ty ty ty

Hello Ed,

I write depressing/disturbing poems b/c I have lived it. I also write humorous poems and I am not so ggod at those but I do have a great sense of humor and love to laugh. I read humor and poems of love, a lot, I just don't write them well.

As for the attention that you may or may not get from certain poems, trust me when I tell you that you are being read. Everyone doesn't leave a comment. One last thing, there are many, many people that email me, leave messages on my board (this is why I keep a private board, to protect them, not me) and they spill words of grattitude, some attitude onto my screen, but all in all, they are happy that they are not alone. Whew! Sorry Ed, I got on a roll here. lol Have a great holiday season. Kisses to Rufuz! lol

post a poem i think is incredible, one that i think is a sure winner, one of my best, and barely a mention--drives me NUTS

i don't write for notoriety, but take the time to say you've dropped by, at least...that's only common courtesy! LOL

Ed, I agree with much of what you say, here. Thanks for saying it.

The following seems to be the prescription for 'success'--
Fine, but poetry involves the ear, or it isn't poetic, IMHO, so I look for and make it my challenge to work for music/poetry within the piece (though not necessarily rhyme) and not give the world the impression I'm excessively psychologically disturbed ;) I ask myself whenever I write something what will they think of us in 100 years time, if they bother, and try to make it something worthwhile.

You have a good point, Ed. I too prefer humor, it is a necessary to have a good laugh. I also think that there is so much material to read alot gets overlooked unintentionally. I enjoyed this thought provoking write. Happy holidays...~Z~

You're right. This is what I've found in my case also. I guess this is why The National Enquirer is probably not going to go out of business anytime soon. People like to read juicy tidbits. That's just the way it is and I've accepted it. I prefer humor myself.
