“Memory…or the lack thereof”

Age related memory problems seem,

To affect me more than that of my team,

We all have some, but not as extreme,

This frequently affects my self-esteem,

Thinking, but only sometimes,

That ending this life in midstream,

Might be the right way, I deem.

But not to worry,

I am in no hurry,

To see the other side,

So I will stay on for the longer ride.

             I fully realize,

That the drugs I did when younger,

Are some of the reason for the capsize,

Of my memory at a earlier age, clockwise,

But does it have to be so blatant?

Can I not recall at least one person’s name,

Just once right after meeting them, feels so lame.  

Long term drug use =equals= short-term memory lose, or is it the            other  way around?

I can never seem to remember for some reason…!
