“NO PAYCHECKS…what a bummer”

Our paychecks didn’t come,

So we didn’t get paid,

This company mails its checks,

Have to suffer the fickle ways of the USPS.

So bills don’t get paid on time,

Nor do I have money that’s mine,

Spent my back-up yesterday,

Doing laundry & going to the shore,

As usually the check is in by Monday.

What to do, I ask myself,

I have no money to take to work,

So I can eat a little something,

Even a cup of coffee & a wingding would suffice,

Sometime later in the day before the long part starts.

So now, I have to make up my mind,

If taking off a day of work is right,

I don’t like doing so,

For the usual reasons, one less day of pay,

I just hate taking time off, unless I am sick,

Well, I guess I am sort of, sick in the pocket book this day.
