LACK OF HEAT…or more bitching about the cold…
Laid down at six for a little nap,
And it is warmer in my bed, anyway,
An hour at most, or so I thought,
Three hours hence I awoke to a rap,
Upon my door, a neighbor,
To see if my electric was on…
Two nights in a row,
The electric did go,
In the coldest time of the year thus far,
Conective said they would be out fast,
Yeah, sure, that is what I heard last,
It took 3 hours, from 4am to 7am,
To discover and fix the problem,
Why bother to pay the bill, oh?
For I could be dead,
Freezing in my pillows…
I at least have SOME heat,
What with coach batteries,
But most don’t, relying on their stoves,
I know, I know, I here do complain a lot of late,
But what the hell, it helps,
To keep me warm…
So if my complaining does give you a pain,
Just shove your own whine up your proverbial butt,
Cause I have reason to be upset,
And angry and tired of dealing with the extreme cold,
Although I have no reason to be pissed about my situation,
As I have put myself here, for the most part,
So to apologize just a bit,
Before the next poem I start,
Sorry for being such a pain in the, said again, proverbial butt… (ed)
Just shove your own whine up your proverbial butt,
Yes, sir. I'll get right on it. (Jet Lag from my old job!)
If possible a wood burner would help you a lot. Here in Pa., years back my power would go out nothing less than 5 hours at a time in the winter and believe me a house cools down quickly. Many times I thought I would get rid of the wood burner but then my luck the power would go out. Take care.
