EMPIRE OF THE “ID”…
As a kid,
My “id”,
Seemed to be underbid,
But as I grew into a school kid,
That same “id”,
Seemed to allow for me to be hid,
From the other children around me,
Made me feel invincible, so as to find myself doing, the overdid.
Every now and then, as I grew, I backslid,
Stepping ahead two steps,
Then one step in the backslid motion,
Now that I find myself old enough to have a grandkid,
And I do not as I never wanted the first half of that idea, a kid,
It is now that I wish I did not forbid myself that luxury,
For I feel I may have been a pretty good dad,
One that never, oh sure, blew his lid,
Well then at least tried to keep his lid under his hair,
For in reality that is the only place for it there…
Well here I cannot for myself chide,
For as they say, time and tide,
Stop for no man, just better be a good swimmer,
Or better yet, not to wash away, better just stay poolside…

give many grey hairs to parents....but...they are so worth it...
being a grandma....I am so proud of all of my four children and
my one grandchild...I lost one son....and yet....even knowing that
might happen...I would do it all over again....Regrets just hurt
Ed....there are so many kids out there without a grandpa...
be one to them...you will get love back threefold and more...
much yearning and longing in this poem...thanks for making me
appreciate what I have...floria
