Glowing in the Dark…(or living in NJ is hazardous to your health)
Living amongst toxic waste,
Trying to do everything with haste,
Want to get home to baste,
The day glo turkey to taste,
Like so much toxic waste.
Living in NJ, one finds a constant glow,
Not of happiness, if you’re in the know,
Here we, like a night light, glow in the dark,
Must be that nuclear plant over near the park.
Hey, but we don’t mind,
It helps us to keep warm,
And our electric bill is less, as we need no light,
When comes the night.
We all just get together, and create,
A beacon for wayward aircraft,
To fly through the radioactive fog,
And not turn any trees into that of a log…
When off we go on vacation,
We have to be quite careful not to reveal,
Our abilities to glow in the dark,
As others find it frightening,
But for us it is just the norm,
It helps keep the swarms,
Of mosquitoes away, as well as any other little bugs,
And the lightening bugs they feed off our excess power,
That we sometimes sell to the electric consortium,
But the funniest time is when we have to take a shower,
The internal light gets drenched & lightening bolts occur,
Enough to make even old “glowers” tremble and cower…

i mean what's a little
toxic waste between friends--
says the guy who grew up
on the banks of the Love Canal--
and now resides between TWO
nukes --2 aging nuclear blunders
