Pig Eons...

I have so little to do on weekends...

Pig Eons…

Have you ever taken a word apart?

checked it for other words within,

tried to figure out what or why,

the original word was made that way?

I wonder about the word above,

what this poems name is, what is the rub?

it is obviously pigeons, but did the maker,

who initially called those birds think,

of the fact that he is calling them a pig?

then the second half, eons,

did that same person that named these birds,

think that they have been around that long,

or that they will last that long,

or that the poop they drop on our heads,

and that of the places they roost,

would last that long?

All something to think about,

if you, like me have nothing to do, but think,

in such varied and sundries of thought,

but if you, unlike me are of the busy variety,

no thoughts of any of this beyond the read,

then send me some of your busyness,

as maybe I need something more to do with my time….

Great thoughts. I often wonder about words too, and how they come about, or things that we eat...Like who first thought that sour cream would be so delightful for our tummies? Oh here's some bad cream, bet it will make our food taste better....bad cook maybe? Hey maybe you can help me. I was going to use a word in one of my poems, but I am not sure whether I made it up or not? crucifiers. I cannot find this word in the dictionary that I have.

Go outside and read a good book, Ed. My pigeons will arrive soon. They don't like being called pigs!!
