Of an Odiferous Nature...(or Smells Revisited)

I wanted to write of these smells I am getting of late, but got off the track last time, what else is new, my choo-choo done derailed again...woo-woo...

Of an Odiferous Nature…

     (or Smells, Revisited…)

When first I wrote of smells,

I really had this in mind to tell,

Of the odd smells I have experienced of late,

Just inside, this my very own engine powered motel…

I have been told, or have heard maybe, somewhere,

That the smelling of smells, those that we are not used to,

May come from two places, either that of spirits just passing thru,

Or maybe of death, sitting and waiting for you to die, is this true ?

Either way, I have experienced of late,

Certain smells I can only describe to be kinda great,

They are those that remind one of candy, sweet if I were to rate,

And then again others that put me in mind of maybe butter,

As I have no idea what it is to smell that of an udder,

Nor do I need to know, if anyone out there wants to tell me…

Anyway, these smells, kinda come and go,

But they really do make me want to know,

What creates them, where do they come from?

What form of creature smells like churned butter?

I know maybe a cow, but then again I don’t want to know, again…

So, if you’re of the psychic variety or just plain psycho, like me,

Maybe you can tell me what you think of my “smelly” problems,

And no, it is not that of me, I have taken my shower,

Cleaned my orifices as far as I can,

Or wholly want to so as not to get the soap,

Stuck up someplace that is not so easy to get out without attaching to it a rope…                                                                                    (ed)

As to this line Ed:
'So, if you’re of the psychic variety
or just plain psycho, like me,
'
well, yes Ed I am both so will dare to comment on this one, this excellent one.
Sometimes when the spirit is hungering it dreams just like the mind dreams, only when the spirit dreams it goes to far off days and there recals moments we have forgotten, sights touches and feelings that were comforting once, perhaps one moment in time, perhaps as in infant or babe.I translate the facts in this poem in this way (psychic as I am)that on a day long ago and long forgotten someone was very comforting to you and on that day the wmell of butter was either on them or in the air.Your spirit being hungry lately for the food of comfort recals in dreams that smell and so real is it that your mind feels it too.
The catholics believe that if the mother of Christ is nearby and overwhelming fragrance of sweetness is there (see the movie Stigmata)
and I believe it too, also I do believe in the dead visiting their loved ones and they do awaken in your own spirit recognition,if you look for signs you will find them. There are no mistakes,if there are unexplaned things going on around you I would say you are being visited by those on the other side,a mother, girl child,or angel would be the sweet smell and the butter also could be mother grandmother or someone who fed you with sweets as an infant or youngster....they are visiting you now. There will be other signs if you look, have things been falling?moving?strong spirits can do that but the smell is a sure sign.Keep you eyes open and don't be afraid, they miss you and are just want to be with you.
Best wishes
from
spooky old Kay.

Interesting way to perceive the smell of creation there Ed. For me it smells like warm wheat toast with honey, maybe in your dreams you are an utter creator?
