Sort of inspitational for me, as well as self-help as well as musical...enjoy, I hope, & if you know the musician I speak of, stand proud, you are one in a few...ed

Light of the Spirit…

some say smells bring back memories too,

but here i speak of songs, music, such beauty,

certain songs bring back for me, such memories of past times,

times of pleasure,

times of pain,

times of rain,

times of memories slain…

here today I listen to “kitaro”, an oriental artist of music,

using the synthesizer and all sorts of instruments,

some of wind,

some of string,

some of electronics,

some of them that do nothing but ring…

he shaped my world,

at a time when it needed shape…

he introduced me to music beyond that of my rock,

at a time when rock was becoming for me a crock…

Another Rene’ way back then helped me to see a light,

A light of the spirit, & a name of one of his songs…

He came out of Japan, a home at the foot of Mt. Fuji,

He seemed to disappear as quickly as he came, oh gee…

saw him once in concert where the philharmonics do play,

from then I was hooked, owned all of his cd’s, this I must say…

I listen to him every now and then,

playing his music, remembering when…

A time in my life, I was introduced to a classic,

not dead, not dying, no disease, no, not even sick…

he did his temporary shaping of the world he saw,

mine & others were drawn to him, like a world without law…

he came to me specifically when I needed him most,

he made me realize there was more to music than the head banging post…

Thankfully, I now say to him, although I know not where he is,

you made me turn & discover other forms of the art of music,

the classical, the jazz, the new age, all something I found myself choosing…

so find peace, if you will, within whatever music you choose,

“music hath charms to soothe the savage breast”,

Not sure who wrote or spoke,

But if they knew of Kitaro, they knew this was what he wore,

this was his coat…
