Hardly a Harley...

I did ride a Harley once, she ended her life in a torrent of flame & crunching metal & fiberglass, my poor old girl...

HARDLY a HARLEY…

In the not so distant past,

A Harley I rode but it was my last,

For I wrecked it quite well,

Over a cliff it did fell,

Which quite nicely made it quell…

Since then I rode, a Schwinn, ten speeds, & hand brakes,

Granted not a Harley but close enough for me,

As that last ride, in the snow, at a hundred & twenty,

Did scare the living shit out of me,

Just prior to it going over the cliff in western Pennsy…

She made a big noise on her way down the side,

Of that hill, all rock, with a stream is where she died,

Just filled the fuel tank, and the explosion was deafening,

Could that be the reason the trooper was so f-ing pissed?

First he asked if I was okay, I replied with the following,

“Wow, man, what a trip, can we do it again?”

Maybe, in reality, that is the reason he did lock me up,

I was just happy for a warm meal and cot…

Oh and thank the god of trees, for if it wasn’t for that limb,

I would have broken my fall on that of the rocks over the rim,

Or they would have broken me, in two or three, so grim,

It really WAS a hell of a trip,

But at such a young age, I did not need to end up in a crypt,

Glad since then I have gotten older and wiser, well at least older,

Now just riding my bicycle on the street seems to be a bolder deal,

Hey watch out for me, I have the right of way, you jerk, you schlameel…

So someday, again I will ride a Harley, & I have seen the kind they make for kids,

They maybe the right size for me, no longer am I as free,

To ride the road at or over a hundred and three…

Ed, Memories that are visited as life goes by
are often experiences of oooohs and sigh's
to buy a new Harely and ride once again
requires clear eyes and alertness my friend.

Keep riding those bikes {not motor~cycles} 'Spinning Wheels Gotta Go Round'... but LOOK OUT for those in Road Rage! Scary times we live in my Friend!
