For Scott Zachary's niece...

Maybe it should be under childrens stories but...?

Rufuz & Flat Stan Get into Mischief…

“Hey, Mrs. Stanley, can Flat Stan come out & play?

Of course Rufuz, Stan can always play with you,

You boys play nice now…sure Mrs. Stanley, yea, right Mom…”

Okay, Stanley, now we have the time,

To go out and do all the fun things that it permits,

We can go and do what my dad says we can’t, climb trees,

Chasing the cats up one branch and down the other,

Boy, they won’t believe it when Flat Stan & Rufuz,

Chase them right up their own trees, oh gee, hee-hee-hee…

Wanna go play in the creek?

As long as its not raining and the creek is low,

We can play and swim and generally do it slow,

For my Daddy is at work and your mom,

She just kinda goes with the flow, like most moms,

They are the best, mine brings me toys and candy,

And yours gives us good stuff too; right Stanley?

Oops, I fell into the creek, ewww; what’s that smell?

Oh Stan, you got it too, well; I won’t if you don’t, tell,

Lets go back in the woods and scare up a deer or two,

Yeah, they don’t mind, maybe one can let her doe,

Come out and play too, so that it won’t be just us, no one will know…

So we didn’t find any little doe or even a fawn, we had a ball anyway,

What about that weird little animal that had that disgusting smell?

Yeah, the little one you thought was a kitty, Stanley,

Well, don’t look at me; I never saw a kitty with a tail like that either,

Then that stuff that came spraying,

I thought he was just marking his place,

But another smell that we both now stink of,

Oh boy I am really just praying,

That it kinda wears off before daddy gets home,

Boy will he be angry, I really smell like an old rug, now…

We better get home soon, its getting dark,

I hear there are nighttime animals out here in the stark woods,

Maybe they can come out and play too, but best get home,

Lets go to your house first; maybe you mom can make us dinner,

Yeah, she may think we are dinner the way we smell so good,

Must have been that last pile of manure we rolled in,

Of course its okay, I did it before, Dad knows I do it, nothing will he say…

BOYS, WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO? YOU BOTH SMELL JUST LIKE POO, EWWW, YOU BOTH NEED A BATH,

NOW GET YOUSELVES UP TO THE TUB, I WILL GET OUT MY

GAS MASK!  WHAT LITTLE KITTY, OH THAT KIND OF KITTY, YOU BOYS NEVER HEARD OF A SKUNK, NO, I SMELL YOU DIDN’T!  BOY, RUFUZ YOUR DAD MAY BE A BIT UPSET, BUT WE WILL HAVE YOU ALL SPIC AND SPAN BEFORE HE FINDS OUT… YES, STANLEY MY DEAR, THANK YOU BOTH FOR SAYING MOM’S ARE THE BEST… I THINK YOU TWO ARE AS WELL…NOW GET IN THAT TUB YOU TWO STINKY BOYS…
