Help me, I need help, I really do, I need therapy, I cannot stop these writes...as long as it is light or dark, day or night, I must stop this little writers elf inside of me...

  J I Cannot Stop, I need help, I need therapy, J

I’m sorry, I can’t say where they come from,

These words, these lines, these poems, so sometimes, fine,

They flow out of me like blood; they grow out of me like hair,

They continue to come up and out like that of,

Puke in the form of words; never are they rare,

Never, no matter whether or not I do care,

My words seem to spurt forth from here and there…

I can’t seem to stop them, whether near, or sometimes quite fair,

Please, what do I do, what can I do, I know not what,

It is like a disease, a creature of some sort has invaded my mind,

It has attached itself to the word centers of my brain,

No drug, no drink, nothing can spare,

Me from this creature, this “lil” writer’s elf, so totally unfair,

I need a break,

I need to use that of my brakes to stop getting more than my share,

Please tell me, oh, gods of the write, what shall I do, how shall I continue to fare…?

after 40yrs of trying to stop,
well, stopping isn't the answer --
it just leads to madness
of another, madder kind!

No, mon amis, there is nought
for it but to Write on

write on!

Hee, hee, go back and read some of your older stuff and say, "did I write that?" like I do.
Keep on writing, but do rest the brain
Attention! "this is not the God of words." Go figure?

How about writing yourself into a novel, entitled "The Compulsive Writer".

In that way, you'll get the kicks of writing, and you'll also produce a novel by yourself. Make it into a horror story, like whenever you look at the piece of paper, or more interesting, whenever you look at the computer screen, there's a face in it waving at your, calling you over to write...and then you'll write... no matter how tired you are, you still write and cannot stop writing because the face won't allow you to sleep even though you're tired...

Well, if you didn't like this plot, then you might come up with a better plot yourself, but it has to do with a compulsive writer. Heeeheee! Hope it works.

Ed...about six months after my son died suddenly ( he was not ill..blood clott to the heart)...I was like a zombie...and for
some strange reason...words came to me...never before had I
written one word....this was three years ago...the poetry I was
producing was so immature and badly written..but my sister
urged me to keep writing...I truly believe that this is what helped me..I went for counseling and spent a lot of money...and what did
she ask me...if she could see my writing...I thought I was going insane...I could not believe the words that haunted me...it stayed like this for at least a year..and then I slowed down and started to "learn" poetry...I believe it to be a gift....just get it all out...it's all you can do...I know...I truly know how you feel....bless you....floria

Ed, Yes you do need help, and yes you need therapy. But the words are your help and they are your therapy... sort of a catch-22. Just keep writing because your words have also become my therapy.
