Spring, Birds, Cats, Rufuz, Ed, Animal control, spending money etc, etc...

“Birdies do sing their song of spring” etc...

(& other subjects contained herein)

Yes, the birdies are here singing,

A song of an early spring day,

The groundhog was wrong,

What the hell does he know?

He lives in the ground, in the dirt,

He is dragged out by man; once a year,

To make a prediction, regards the weather,

Hell, even the weather computers cannot,

Predict the weather with any accuracy or not…

Today, a warm day, in the upper fifties,

Rufuz is happy, outside to chase the kitties,

That have apparently been born in a “nest”,

Under my camper, their mommy, won’t let me near,

Called the local animal control, get rid of the cats I say,

They tell me they are mine, as they are living under my home,

I try to explain, if I had my way they could roam,

But they are going to come out anyway,

As I am willing to pay, to have them taken away…

So this winter I have lived with cats,

The first time in my life I can say that,

Under the camper they did live,

Thought I was hearing crying of some sort,

Though I thought I was just going nuts from the cold…

The birdies stay in their trees, singing their lovely song,

Although eventually I will tire of that song too,

Wonder if animal control will take them too?

Sort of killing two birds with a few dollars…

Don’t ask where this weird entry into my poem site came from,

Tis’ just another example of the “od” of ed, spouting his fill,

And you will have to put up with it or not, till,

The next poem comes forth, maybe worse, maybe not, still…

Poor little kitties! Wish I had a home to offer to them. Keep the cats and the birds will be more careful where they sing.....

So sad when people don't take care of their pets; to see abandoned cats or dogs is such a shame! Nice writing!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

If I could have pets where we live (and we can't), I would take some of those dear little kitties!

Ed, you can probably borrow some live-traps from a local animal humane society or police department - for free. If you want to help them, live-trap them and take them to a feral cat rescue org or no-kill shelter. Feral kittens can become loving indoor pets if rescued early in life. I have one in my house now; and she's turning into a real sweetheart.
