State of the art technology 2015.
You called? The phone rang. I picked it up and said "Hello?" There was silence. So I waited... then heard a click... followed by a ring Soon a recording said... "If you would like to make a call... please hang up and dial again. If you have trouble dial your operator." I was not aware that I had an operator. So I dialed "O". Got a busy signal.

Good one! I've had the same thing happen to me. I've also had calls that were butt dialed, and there was nothing there but static, or was that gas?

So true. I remember having party-lines when I was a kid. This is actually much more frustrating than knowing someone "might" be listening in on your conversation.

Hah! I usually just throw my hands up, although on one occasion I dropped-kicked a phone out the front door. Ruined it. So damn mad I didn't care.

Clearly, the state of our times.

I have found that when you get in an endless cycle of menus and lead you in the wrong direction for the simple question you wish to ask, all you have to do is keep punching, "O," and you'll get action� Sometimes.
