I certainly appreciate "winter light," and the monochromatic white and dark of the snow-covered winter scene, but I had a little trouble with ashes being contained in a ceramic vase, unless they were set free to "fly forever" beyond the "Eastern point." Or at least that is as much as I could discern. As much as we are, "all talented," we also, all die, and I believe your poem is about that eventuality that I am looking forward to because my work here on this beautiful Earth, is basically done.
An interesting fusing of life and death, allowing more of the oneness of life to be appreciated... perhaps even the oneness of death. There is celebratory resonance between the rainbow of life and shadows of death, for it can be argued that we all spend a part of our lives in pursuit of both life and death. I personally appreciate the poets that explore such dichotomies of separateness and their inter-relationships that often result in a confluent perception. If only more poets would give us such challenges of thought. Kudos.
