There are guys and gals

In far away places

Risking their lives for us.

Pray that they will be safe.

They are our volunteer

Army and we cannot forget them.

Send them a letter,

A brief or long note of thanks.

You can get their address on the

Internet if you are savy.

Your poetry may cheer them up

As they spend many times under stress.

Having fought in a war

I know the joy of receiving

A letter from home or a friend-

It takes your mind off the war.
