The calm and quiet night is in full bloom,
The sky is as if trying to peep into my room!
The stars, in the absence of moon,
Shine dully like drops of mercury,
And some scattered colourless clouds,
Lost in themselves, float listlessly.
The highrise buildings have fallen silent
Their arrogance blunted by the overpowering night,
And how meek and subdued looks
Every arrogant hoarding and streetlight!
All the streets are now deserted,
No one is moving around,
An indifferent,vapid breeze is blowing
Undulating the curtains without a sound.
All the sounds have dissolved
In the deep whirlpool of silence,
Only my sleep-heavy, dull breathing
Assures me of my own presence.
