It was a strange outcome. While Trump wrecked the Republican Party, both he and the party came out okay. But that's politics. The Pied Piper must now play a different tune.
But as Ed has quoted, all things pass, the pendulum swings toward good, and the truth rises above all the gossip, backbiting and innuendo. Conspiracy theories fall before evidence and reasoned justice. And, the world gets better all the time.
Perhaps because I live far away, I don't feel the pinch as much. The Arabs where I live (and my students) are frantic abut the Trump win. They were asking me about it. I had to pretend indifference, not wishing to get into it with them. As Ed says, life goes on, everything has a destiny, even the US. Trump may end up surprising everyone, as he did with this election. You have got to give him credit for pulling the impossible (a rabbit) out of the hat. John
