A LIE

A little lie was told,

Spoken with such ease.

Hiding the truth,

So no one sees.

A little lie was told,

But a lie must be worn.

Worn to hide the truth,

And a liar is born.

It started out small,

Just one little lie.

A few simple words,

Without an alibi.

The lie was so small,

But it grew and grew.

Then another lie was needed,

So now there are two.

More lies are needed,

As time goes by.

Each new lie because,

The others wouldn’t die.

A monster is created,

With a life of its own.

The lie turns on its maker,

Never leaving the liar alone.

But a lie is vunerable,

To that which is true .

Lies disappear,

When the truth comes through.

It’s always better,

To tell the truth.

A person that lies,

Is most uncouth.
