On a near perfect morning I am ready to prove
That five thirty is a godly hour
Comforting mountains surround
Rising fog reveals more of ancient hills
Daylight darts through yawning trees
Exposing grass blades
Shimmering naked without shame
My world is almost perfect
Good wake-up music keeping time
With the agitated coffee maker
Strains of Beethoven's Sixth suggest outside
And I am there breathing sweet air
An audience of one for early bird songs
Being a novice of species and notes
I pull good music's blanket around me
Warding off the chill of silence
Sipping brisk hot coffee
Hearing original avian scores in concert
In a quick surprising decision
I push the button
ending Beethoven's mountain music
What a lovely piece of morning perfection this is, Bill!! I too would have muted Beethoven and just enjoyed the sound of morning...although there wasn't much warbling to hear the last few days..)) I totally enjoyed this! And I raise my cup of coffee to you..

Beethoven's music is wonderful, sometime. Just can't compare with natures' concerto though! Wonderful visual and could almost feel the chill in the air and smell the coffee!!
