An Observation
Employees of mega stores are a varied lot.
It could be their job assignments,
but I don't believe that.
Those less likely to win contests
are more prone to give help to customers.
Things are balanced with kindness out of need.

What is another thirty or sixty seconds worth?
Betting life itself, a driver hurls a car
into oncoming traffic
convinced that a sudden spurt of speed
can compete with the fifty miles an hour
of oncoming cars.
Simply and direct observations ... all three of which add up to a timely bit of wisdom. I like the way you've captured significance using a very simply approach. Indeed a nice write.
You know, Bill, I really like the way you look at life...clean and simple. I wish I could capture a slice of it with fewer frills and a shorter gestation period.
When "response leads into responsibility". I call that trust with a capital T...if only we all had such freinds and neighbors these days.And what ever happened to random human kindness when a simple gesture becomes a mercenary one and must be rewarded in prizes as opposed to a smile or a simple "Thank-you"? As for split second...well, you know, there's just no accounting for brains these days...just pray you keep outta the way.
