One of Us Will Cry

A day in our future will come
when one of us will cry
On that day one will be first
to leave an anguished survivor
When grief blankets all emotion
in an unbearable loneliness
One of us will cry inconsolable tears
realizing that a solid bond is halved
The living one is granted new days
for unknown and shared joys and
Which goes first changes nothing
for the one to live and remember
We know the moment both lives end
that our love must live on in others

My friend, I know today is a tough day.. they never really get easier you know but we do get more accustomed to them. As much as your love makes you want to stay in the past it also makes you move on and continue living and breathing.. a beautiful piece this is!
much love,
M

Hey,your poem expresses how people should live their lives despite the fact that their love ones are in a better place.I'm glad that you see this poem in a different light and this poem does not offer any sadness, but it offers strength which you have indeed display in your life.I know you will always have a special place in your heart for your wife as she is an angel to you not only in your life, but in the afterlife and beyond.Thank you for sharing this poem.It is greatly appreciated.Take care and God Bless you

Your words are powerful and true. The last two lines really sum things up.
