Borders dripping fuchsia tantalize as buddleia gives honeyed breath. here, on her purple spears, the butterflies descend to gorge themselves to death.
Drunken Painted Ladies reel and swoon among the tipsy Cabbage Whites; and drowsy Peacocks dip their lengthy spoons on fragrant phlox, between short flights.
Common Blues peruse the border beds where lavandula's burgeoning; a Tortoiseshell browses on hebe heads and pheromones begin to sing.
Richly lyrical, the bizare slightly macabre elements, butterlies gorged to death on purple,
painted ladies, tipsy cabbage whites for me is reminiscent of Sylvia Plath & her sense of the abnormal ominous in reality, which for me casts a weird chill throught out the poem which seems otherwise an invitation. Thanks for your comments on Suibine, More of Suibine has recently been added. He crops up every now & then, rather like my haikus, perhaps as you say with a certain dark eroticism, for some reason your review doesn´t show up on my den, but if you like I could make a compilation of Suibines for PTL Anyway, v nice bit of writing Robin
