Buds soon will burst
Some are peeking
All leaning toward time
And rain and sun
And will to be.
The weeping willow already showers green
Upon the dew
And Japanese persimmon
Already bid anew
One day soon
Perhaps tomorrow
Last threads will break
And leaf and bloom explode
To full release
Of spring's
Too long imprisoned
Embryo.
Even knowing this
My heart will gasp.
Though now it
Beats with rapt anticipation
Of tomorrow's emancipation.
