Grave Thoughts…
By: Fee
I stand solemn in the shadows
of the who came before
Knocking on the inspiration
of their bequeathed door
With a simple song on my lips,
an ageless smile in heart
I’m willing, I’m eager
show me the page where I start
With an ode. a haiku or
A free write prose standing alone
The words are my friends,
the rhyming verses my home
And when my time is done
and I forever lay down my pen
If one voice speaks up and says:
“Yes, I remember him when…”
I will rest easy beneath the breast
of summer’s green grass
Laying face down so those who don’t like me
can all kiss my rosy red a_ _!
hugs
Kathy
BEFORE we lay down that pen forever.
