The end of all things changed ever so slightly...another repost of an old poem...

Poem Artwork

Nature’s vague swipe at Irony

Pandora’s box was opened long ago

but Machine had eroded all hope.

Paradise lost to fire-mushrooms

Darwin’s monkeys virtually extinct

living like moles deep underground

tunneling toward the brink.

When all was lost

and matter went back to chaos.

From high Empyrean came forth

The Hammer of the Gods;

Nemesis, riding a falling star

brought forth the heavenly fire.

A divine wind bellowing

in her blazing skirt.

Clouds became as brightly lit stone,

as she fell with steaming vengeance

upon a cindered Earth.

And when at last, the light had faded

from the world…

Time

found itself free and unhindered.

Time never dies and neither do we. But we seem intent on destroying the present planet we live on. Thought-provoking creation, Paul. Love and peace. Regis

Perhaps I should write this was sooo spectacular and deep as my fellows have, and it is an excellent write, Paul, but as I take the poem in its entirety, I find it highly amusing. Thank you for the morning smile. ;-) ~~Nordette

Yes, all has been said here; you manage to make cosmic starbursts of your lush combinations of science, literature and poetic expression, Paul. Your writes are always good sci-fi and take us both forwards and back in time. In short - you seem to cover both heaven and earth, time and space, knowledge and the unknown with a few deft lines. Always transcendent, and make me long to shed my "feet of clay". Excellent, thank you. Kate xx
