There are only two kinds of people in the world...
...the Irish and those who wish they were.
HAPPY St. PATRICK DAY to everybody!
Saint Patrick was a gentleman
who through strategy and stealth
drove all the snakes from Ireland,
here's a drinkee to his health!
but not too many drinkees
lest we lose ourselves and then...
forget the good Saint Patrick
seeing them snakes again...
and the prancing pink elephants!
George you remind me of a Somali fable which says:
All people are my tribe. They are all mine. Europeans are mine, too. It was only one night when he got angry that he turned white. Nothing else.
Reliable sources reported to me that the dreaded trouser snake had taken refuge at your place Georg, but the irish whiskey had him too pickled to do the famous snake dance. Patrick
Yea and I raise another glass of green beer up in a toast to me wee friend Georg may you be seven days in heaven before the devil knows you're there.

I saw a few leprechauns last night actually riding pink elephants. I'll leave it at that.
Pink elephants ye be seeing, Anon Ed?? Methinks ye be celebrating with too much Jameson, my friend! Ahhh, but with St. Pat's appreciation. Your poem brings smiles to me :o)

The first part about being Irish or wishing to be, was told to me by my Irish cousin. Your poem catches the spirit of St. Patrick.
