breath of the sea

ended up
at the beach last night
wind whipping salt water
white sand
and
rain
chasing waves like I
was
five
soaked
through and through
loved it
could have stayed forever
right there
frozen the moment
mine
there’s
something about
a stormy shore
something about
pelting rain and driving wind
makes me lift my arms
and
feel
free
salt water lungs
crashing waves
splatter of lights from distant shoreline
and
the sea
spread across the expanse
dark and beautiful
a gift
of life
breath of the sea

Josie,
I know well the majesty you speak of, born near her roar, you just painted it afresh, I too of young, nor still, know no grander place, on Gods green earth! Very pretty and delicate write...

Jose, the sea (Atlantic Ocean) is my compass in life. As long as I know where it is, I know where I am. As long as I can go to the sea, I can solve any problem, and replenish my soul. Thank you for putting it on paper for all to see.

You painted a beautiful picture. I could see myself right there with you, feeling what you were feeling. Love your talent.
