HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY------ MOMS
Mom
Got married, and
I came along.
I remember her love,
And her night gown,
As she took my temperature,
And applied more Vicks,
My Mom, could just about, anything
Fix.
Two sisters and a brother:
Four,
She was everything to.
I never felt slighted,
I just sorta knew,
That the oldest was the one
She’d always look to.
She set my standards,
Very high,
Convinced me;
I could master anything, if only,
I’d try.
We had our differences,
As we’re much the same.
But she never put up
With a lack of respect,
And I knew better than
On that, to check.
She taught us to care,
For the things, that,
We had.
To always be thankful, polite ,and,
Kind.
To know our hearts; to trust,
Our minds.
And tho I left her,
With my own wife to be.
I never once forgot,
The things she taught
Me to see.
The difference in my life, between,
Good and bad,
Happy and sad,
Was the wisdom, she planted,
In me.
All thru my life, these forty odd years,
That all too fast,
Flew by.
Since I left,
That home she made for me.
I never felt far, or forever, away
Cause her house, is my house,
Right up to,
Today.
When Dad died, I stayed,
with her for awhile,
I helped her get past, and,
Re-learn to smile
She then, bestowed a real honor on me,
Said take me to church,
I want to meet your Lord,
For Him, in you,
I see.
It was awesome, she was so,
at ease.
She walked right down that aisle,
Got on her bended knees;
And said to the pastor,
I want to meet Him,
Please.
So, not only, on this day, in May,
When moms are singled out,
But a lot of the time
And pretty often,
I ponder and recall,
My Mother’s Love & Influence, On my life,
Is thread,
Thru it:
All!
Wonderful write, Art! and beautiful painting!
