The Winds came last night with all its playmates.

Poem Artwork

It came at first as a whisper.  The wind softly caressed my ear.

It soon became louder and colder blowing to and fro, front to rear.

I found the wind was stinging my face and blowing my hair.

It caused trees to sway and clouds to pray blowing about in the air.

Soon the air was not alone as it brought about snow and freezing rain.

Snow, floated lazily and frozen raindrops splashed on mountains, lakes and surrounding terrain.

It was as if the wind was the conductor and the elements the orchestra that played.

The frozen rain simply bounced where it landed and the snow stayed where it laid.

The wind picked up its pace and the snow and freezing rain followed after it.

As suddenly as it all began it simply gave up and quit.

The wind died down the rain stopped falling and the snow no longer came floating down.

All that was left was a white covering of frozen rain and snow that now covered the ground.
