The good morning Star

Our nearest star is what we call ‘the sun.’

Its brilliant light enhances the eastern sky and we know another day has begun.

It brings brightness to a world that had become dark with the coming of night.

As the new day comes it’s rise to once again become our leading light.

As it climbs upward there come a few clouds to create some shade.

Beneath this the birds fly, the plants grow and the children have always played.

A warm breeze blows as the morning progresses.

We stand and enjoy the winds soft gentle caresses

All of nature is awakened by the invitation of the sun.

Its warmth will continue even after the day is done

And the sun finishes its daily trip to the west and then comes the night.

Once more on the morrow we will again see its light.
