OHIO ODYSSEY
 

O, they set off for O-hi-O one fine day
at the very end of September;
Little did they know, that their long-awaited trip
was a time they'd always remember.
 

O, Bursitis set in before they set out
with their luggage, their snacks and their pup;
In spite of the pillow, in spite of the pills,
her old shoulder just kept acting up.
 

O, they made it to O-hi-O just in time
to get all their instructions and such;
But her shoulder still hurt when the new day dawned;
it needed a chiropractor's touch!
 

O, the chiropractor's words were "...hot, wet towels,"
but they called her doc in P-A;
He said an X-ray was a ne-cess-ity;
she must visit the E-R today!
 

O, the "sandwiches and soup" were good at first;
she'd wake to eat, then fall back asleep,
While he took over each and every duty,
for he had a covenant to keep.
 

O, his responsibilities were many;
Chelsey had to help him all she could.
Though there were unexpected tribulations,
the hours spent with 2 sweet kids were good!
 

O, poor Jason, little Jason, felt so bad,
till Pappy, with bucket, did arrive;
Then Jason tried to throw up in the bucket,
dousing Pappy - not one time - but 5 !
 

O, Jasper was sad and bewildered all week,
and he seemed to be hosting some fleas;
So they kept him locked in the bathroom all night,
though he sat at the door and cried, "Please."
 

O, the washer and the toilet wouldn't work;
water spouted from the kitchen floor;
The dishwasher baked food on every dish;
the pup got very sick -- and there's more!
 

But the LORD was there through all of their trials;
with Marie, His angel, sent to pray and care.
Mike and Cindy never learned, till they returned,
what happened the week they were not there!
 
"Why do you say....'My way is hidden from the Lord'?....
The LORD is the everlasting God.....
He will not grow tired or weary...
He gives strength to the weary....
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
