It must be genetic, this horrid frenetic rhyming proclivity --
Try as I might, I can't seem to write a sensible, non-rhyming ditty
I aim to write
but not to rhyme --
not this time.
Oh, no,
I can barely go
3 lines
before
a rhyme intrudes.
how rude,
so crude,
I'm "tried and true d."
It just won't
STOP!
There,
just maybe
I have stopped it.
Now, how
to top it?
HELP!

Connie, I loved it! It wish I had this problem. I often have to go through the alphabet or to a "rhyme" website to find an appropriate word. You have a great gift!
I writes 'em as I gets 'em; I usually rhyme; but then, that's only when I do poetry. I'd much rather write stories; I'm not a poet! I'm the StoryTeller!

I like this very much Connie. As you know, my style is to use quatrains with balanced meter and rhyme. Just the way I happen to like my writing. But like I said, it matters not. Everyone's style is different. Super job my friend.
Rite away, Connie, rhyme or not. It's easier for me to do a free verse (i.e., not rhyming). Meter has to be there, though, drive myself nuts with that. Excellent write.
