I would love to have been in that choir!

Poem Artwork

In my mind's eye, I see it now~
The wonder of that night!
When angels spoke to humble men,
Awaking in their fright.

No other eyes had gazed in awe
At such a wondrous scene,
Nor heard the angel herald's voice,
Thinking it was a dream.

Imagination transports me
To see with starstruck eyes
Unveiled messengers of God
Appearing in night skies.

My soul exults, my voice rings out,
With angel bands I sing!
Our hallelujahs fill the air
With praises to the King!

Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before Him with joyful songs.

Psalm 100:2 KJV

And I burst into songs of Allelujah, even as I read! How wonderfully you have expressed the awe and astonishment of that night, Connie.. I ponder that event, too... it makes me tremble sometimes. Thank you for this beautiful verse.

I love it! After reading the story so many times, we tend to get immune to what a thrilling occurrence it actually was. Your poem brought it to life and made it exciting for me again. I will read the Biblical account with fresh eyes now.

Connie, your poem is well thought out and executed in glowing praises of our Lord and Savior. This poem will go into my "keeper" file so I can read it over and over again. Excellent post, Connie.
